"Poppy Field in a Hollow near Giverny" is painted by Claude Monet in 1885. The area around Giverny has hills to the north and cultivated fields of poppy and wheat to the south. In the first years in which he lives in the village, Monet walks around these fields full of color and natural flowers.
Monet and the other Impressionists believe that objects observed in strong light lose definition and appear to mingle with each other. There is no clear outline in this sunny landscape. Its shapes and textures are suggested by the size, shape and direction of the brush, and the comparison of complementary red and green colors gives a saturation of the picture.
Reproduction is a high-quality eco-printing, on an Italian eco ink jar. The canvas is folded over the back to the size of 30x40, and above this size is stretched on a subframe. The picture is arranged with a luxury frame and is ready for hanging.
