"The Lady with an Ermine" (from the Italian Dama con l'ermellino) is painted with oil on wood at the end of the 15th century by Leonardo da Vinci. Along with Mona Lisa, "The Lady with an Ermine" is among the most famous paintings of da Vinci. The painting dates from around 1490.

The girl in the portrait is believed to be Cecilia Galerani, the mistress of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan and patron of Leonardo da Vinci. Cecilia Galleni was at that time 16-17 years old. She comes from a modest family, but she has had excellent education, she has spoken freely in Latin, plays, writes poetry.

On the map, the girl is depicted holding Ermine. Ermine was among the nobles' pet pets, and in the painting brings specific and curious symbolism. In Leonardo da Vinci's paintings there is a swing - from the mysterious smile of Mona Lisa to the hermelin, which was considered a symbol of purity.
